An unexpected and unfortunate incident has come to light from Mumbai Naval Dockyard. INS Ranveer, a large naval vessel known as a warship, suddenly exploded. Three sailors were killed in the accident. An inquiry will be held into the cause of the incident. The incident took place in the internal compartment of INS Ranveer. The literature was not severely damaged in the incident. But three brave naval personnel have unfortunately been martyred in this accident. Sources also said that 17 people were injured.
After the incident, the crew immediately started the rescue operation considering the seriousness of the situation. Eventually, they regained control of the situation. But by then, three soldiers had died. In fact, INS Ranveer has been on cross-coastal operational deployment from Eastern Naval Command since November 2021 and will return to base port soon. But the incident, meanwhile, has caused a stir in the Navy.
The INS Ranveer is considered to be the 4th most powerful ship of the Rajput class in the Indian Navy. The ship was added to the Navy in 1986.
The Indian Navy had released information about the features of the INS Ranveer ship in 2017 on its official Facebook account. The Navy had said that it was the first destroyer in the Ranveer class. The ship entered the Indian Navy on April 21, 1986. The ship has a displacement of 5,000 tons, length 146 meters, beam 15.8 meters. So it is considered to be capable of much faster. The ship has a crew of 30 officers and 310 sailors. They are also equipped with a range of weapons and sensors. This includes surface-to-surface as well as surface-to-air missiles and artillery, the navy said in a statement.
In recent times, the ship has participated in bilateral naval exercises with Russia in addition to various fleet exercises. The INS Ranveer is attached to the regiments of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles and the Ladakh Scouts of the #IndianArmy, “the Indian Navy said in a statement.
