Defensive stability has obviously suffered under Roberto De Zerby’s new style of play, but the problem of not scoring properly has disappeared under Graham Porter.
Under the leadership of the Italian national team coach, players who have performed poorly in the past few years have begun to improve in front of goal.
Pascal Grosz, Adam Lallana and Alexis Mack Allister already matched or exceeded their scoring returns last season. Top scorer Leandro Trossard, meanwhile, is one goal shy of last season’s tally.
