The Bantamweight World Grand Prix is now starting with the sincerity that the bracket has been completed with a pair of quarter-final matches. Cyborg and Blencowe met at Bellator 249 in October, with the former winning the second round. This is the first cyborg to tap out an opponent. A win would be his fourth consecutive title defense, which would tie Ben Ascran to a promotional record.
Blencowe is standing in his way. Since losing to Cyborg, the former boxer has become a mixed martial artist, winning back-to-back contests against Diana Silva and Pam Sorenson, respectively, to earn herself another crack at featherweight gold capture.
