Champions League The journey to Istanbul began in Istanbul as the draw for the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League group stage took place on Thursday 25 August in the city that will host the final in June 2023.
The 32 clubs that qualified for the group stage (26 automatic qualifiers along with the six teams that earned berths in the qualifying rounds) revealed their fate when their names were drawn from the banks in a dazzling ceremony.

But more notably, the pair also gave Robert Lewandowski a return match against former club Bayern Munich. A stellar career with the Bavarian giants ended with a controversial exit over the summer. By moving to Barcelona, he will want to prove that he made the right move.
